Hi! I’m Rachel and I have a recently-rediscovered passion for sewing.
As I wandered through the beautiful streets of Barcelona, I happened to stumble across a wonderful little fabric shop called Nunoya.
I had planned to put my
obsession hobby on pause whilst on holiday but everything about this shop was drawing me in. I am powerless to resist a bold print and before I knew it I was inside the shop obsessing over the gorgeous fabrics.
Nunoya, aka print heaven, stocks the most wonderful array of Japanese fabrics from traditional geometric and floral prints to independent designs, you can also pick up some Liberty prints too. Check out these shelves of beauty!
I’m looking at theses images thinking I wish I’d have picked up a few metres of blue fabric with the red flowers and maybe that purple and green print too – wouldn’t that make the most fantastic skirt?
If you look very closely in the first image you may just about see the two fabrics which caught my eye most of all but if you would like a closer look then voila!
Being me I couldn’t resist the boldest of geometric prints hence this green and white design. If you look very closely you can see some smaller silver triangles which shimmer in the light.
For my second choice, I picked a red-orange star print in a slightly thicker cotton. As I have absolutely no idea what to make with this fabric I’ve gone for 3ms – that way when inspiration strikes I can make absolutely anything!
For any Nunoya fans out there, the shop is positioned between Barcelona Cathedral and La Ramblas on Carrer de la Palla. Perfectly positioned and incredibly dangerous for the purse, if you are ever in Barca then be sure to drop in.
